Hengoed to Maesycwmmer Viaduct - Stretching majestically across the Rhymney Valley are the sixteen arches of the Maesycwmmer to Hengoed Viaduct. Built in 1857, this 260 metre structure serves as a striking testament to the impact of the railways on the County Borough's landscape. It was commissioned by the Newport, Abergavenney and Hereford Railway and designed by their engineer Charles Liddel. It formed part of the cross-valley rail route that linked Pontypool to Swansea, via Aberdare and Neath. The line crossing the Viaduct closed in 1964. Today it forms part of the Celtic Trail, the network of cycle routes across South Wales. This answers half of your question!

I love rain as it makes everything so fresh nature, mountains. I planned trips with my family on rainy season.
